Some countries drink every day. Others save it all for the party.
Toast Atlas ranks both. Share the traditions of your country, festival or family, and let people who were there confirm the numbers.
Every day
Pure alcohol per adult (15+) per year, from WHO data for every country, adjusted by confirmed "everyday habit" stories such as the after-work pub or wine with dinner. Each row also shows what that looks like in real drinks.
Baseline: WHO Global Information System on Alcohol and Health (GISAH), 2010, as published in FiveThirtyEight's open dataset. Totals include WHO estimates for homemade and other unrecorded alcohol; the beer, wine and shot counts are recorded consumption only.
